Meet the Counselors

Meet Mrs. Dudek - Counselor for Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades

Hello Reedy Creek Families! My name is Christine “Chris” Dudek. I have been an elementary school counselor since 2003. Reedy Creek Elementary  has been my school home since 2007.  Originally I am from Pennsylvania, attended graduate school in Ohio (Go Bucks!) and moved to NC in 2003.

When I’m not at school I love to be outdoors with my family; my husband Aaron, my 2 sons,  chocolate Lab Mae, cat Otis, and our 5 chickens. I like to hike, read, play games and watch college football.

Two of my passions as a school counselor are helping kids to learn self-regulation through the Zones of Regulation program and The Positivity Project, which teaches a variety of character strengths and their importance. I look forward to working with all students at our school this year!

Meet Mrs. Hall- Counselor for 1st, 3rd and 5th grades

Hello! My name is Donesha Hall and it is an honor to be a counselor at Reedy Creek Elementary. Born and raised in NC, I'm a graduate of ECU (Go Pirates!) and NCCU (Eagle Pride!). Working with children brings a great deal of joy to my life!

I believe that my role as the counselor is to develop and maintain a quality counseling program where students learn how to work well with others, develop new and creative ways to cope with life's stresses and gain an appreciation for their skills, talents and the  wonderful education that they deserve. All of which will lead them into promising futures. I support the staff, families and community so that our students are successful and enjoy their school experience.

About the Counseling Program

Program Components

The Reedy Creek Elementary School counseling program will partner with teachers, administrators, parents, and students to advocate for the equity and success of all students as they pursue lifelong academic, personal/social, and career success. Delivery of a developmental comprehensive school counseling program to all students will challenge and inspire them to become collaborative, creative, effective communicators and critical thinkers in a global society.

Responsive Services

The heart of school counseling, responsive services include: Individual and Group counseling, Parent/Guardian, Teacher and Student conferences.  All of which are conducted in a safe and confidential environment.

Student Planning

Providing helpful information and making sound choices regarding academic improvement and behavioral success. The foundation of planning involves setting goals with the student and taking the proper steps in reaching his or her highest potential.

Classroom Guidance

An opportunity for the school counselor to enter into the classroom setting and provide information and activities for concerns ranging from study habits and friendships, to career choices and bullying, and much, much more.

System Support

As a team member, the counselor is responsible for collaboration and consultation with parents, staff,  administrators and community members. Also, counselors engage in professional development (i.e. workshops and conferences) which helps the counselor to remain “in-the-know” with current issues and trends in counseling.
